Our day started slightly early
than usual as we were required to board the bus at 8.00 from the front gate of
our hotel. Before I take you through the journey of my experiences in Abu Dhabi,
let me tell you something which I missed, we booked our one-day trip to Abu
Dhabi through a travel agency (Ryan travels). It took us around two hours to
reach Abu Dhabi; as we moved through the city, we saw a lot of buildings of
commercial importance and some shouting out about the architectural feat of the
state. The first structure which we saw was the capital gate building, which
holds the Guinness record of being the world’s furthest leaning man-made tower
with a precipitous slope of 18 degrees, which is five times the slope of
leaning tower of Pisa. We were just getting out of the amazement evoked by the
capital gate building when we came across another architectural marvel, i.e.,
Aldar headquarters, which is first of its kind circular building in the Middle
East. As we traversed further through the city, we saw cultural square, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, before making our first pit stop at
Miraj Museum.

| Miraj Museum |
Miraj museum hosts a lot of artifacts belonging to the royal
family. At the museum, we also gained a lot of knowledge about the carpets and
accessories used in the making of the same. We saw some astonishing carpets
studded with some of the rare stones and decorated with gold. After checking
out the rare artifacts, we moved out next destination- The Grand Mosque. It is
one of the largest mosques around the globe, which opened the gates for the
non-Muslims to understand and experience the Islamic culture very closely.

| Corniche Road |
After experiencing divinity at
the mosque, we made our way to Corniche Road. We saw the Presidential palace
from a distance as we did not have clearance to go very near to it. We also
hired an e-scooter at Corniche Road to check out the near-by places. Before
moving on to our final destination for the day, which was much-talked
destination among roller coaster enthusiasts, i.e., Ferrari world, we stopped
in the middle to grab our lunch. As soon as we were done with our lunch, we
went to the Ferrari World, where we saw machines with some serious horsepower
and witnessed the world’s fastest roller coaster. Due to the paucity of time,
we were unable to experience it. But it made its way to my bucket list. Hence,
I will experience it soon whenever I get a chance to go back to Abu Dhabi. After
ending our trip by witnessing speed and thrill, we boarded our bus to get back
to Dubai. On the way, we stopped at the dates’ market where we found some of
the rare types of dates and unique combination of dates dipped in chocolate
with an almond inside it. After purchasing finely crafted deserts from the
dates’ market, we reached our hotel around 7.30 pm.

After relaxing for a while upon reaching our
hotel, with heavy hearts, we started packing our bags as it was time for us to
return to India and bid goodbye to the beautiful city 😊
